James Stutz has over 15 years of experience in business development, finance and alliance management. Mr. Stutz joined Essex Woodlands from CoMentis, where he was a Senior Director and a member of the deal team responsible for CoMentis’ $760 million beta secretase inhibitor partnership with Astellas Pharma.
Prior to joining CoMentis, he held the position of Director, Corporate Development at InterMune, Inc., where he worked in Business Development and led InterMune’s strategic planning efforts. Mr. Stutz was also a senior consultant at Strategic Decisions Group (now a business unit of IMS Health) where he worked on a number of portfolio planning, valuation and product planning consulting engagements for pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies in the U.S. and Japan. He was previously a commissioned officer in the United States Air Force.
Mr. Stutz joined Essex Woodlands as Principal in the Palo Alto office in November 2009.
