Brooks Andrews joined the Palo Alto office of Essex Woodlands as an Associate in August 2013, and was promoted to Vice President in June 2014. Brooks serves on the board of BreatheAmerica and is an observer for AxoGen and Metabolon, in addition to working closely with portfolio companies Corium, IntegenX and Revance Therapeutics. He also focuses his efforts on new investments across the pharmaceuticals, healthcare services, and healthcare IT sectors domestically and internationally.
Brooks previously worked as an investment professional at Friedman Fleischer & Lowe (“FFL”), a growth-oriented private equity firm based in San Francisco. At FFL, Brooks worked on several healthcare services and facilities-based healthcare investments ranging from IT to practice management to urgent care. As an investment professional, Brooks was primarily responsible for evaluating new investment opportunities and assisting portfolio companies with the execution of their strategies.
Prior to FFL, Brooks worked at Barclay’s Capital in the firm’s investment banking division, focusing on financings, mergers and acquisitions in the communications and media industries.
Brooks received Bachelor of Business Administration degrees in Economics and Finance and a Master of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Georgia, and a Master of Business Administration degree from Stanford University. He is a passionate follower of UGA football and in his spare time loves playing golf, skiing, traveling, and sharpening his skills as a value investor.
